Best At Home Spa Type Facial Products 2021

Hello beautiful! We have all felt the effects of covid-19 over this past year and the variations of lockdowns have taught us one thing: at home, health and beauty care is essential as you can no longer rely on your salon to be open. When it comes to dealing with problem skin like acne and rosacea being unable to get to the salon may seem like torture but fear not we have got you covered!

Technology over the past few years has come a long way. Products that used to be the size of a refrigerator and strictly for professional salon or dermatologist use are now available in toaster-size, perfect for at-home prevention and cure! Now granted they are not always as strong as the salon version however they can do just as effective a job when used correctly and then with so many products available on the market how do you know which one to choose?

Easy! We tried out a whole bunch of them so you don’t have to! Here are our favorites:

steamer

NanoSteamer Large 3-in-1 Nano Ionic Facial Steamer

The first thing that happens when you step into a spa is a deep clean, all your makeup is washed off and a steamer is used to open your pores and get you prepped for the next part of the facial: extraction.

We are absolutely in love with this cute but mighty powerful facial steamer! And while we don’t recommend using the 5 piece tool kit for extraction (unless you know what you are doing) its an added bonus that it comes with the steamer. Its super easy to use and clean and available at an amazing price. Get yours here!

GUGUG Facial Skin Scrubber Multipurpose Machine

This wonderful little tool uses high frequency vibration to achieve a deep salon like clean in the comfort of your home.

The GUGUG skin scrubber has 4 modes:

  • Cleaning: The blackheads can be removed through 24k high frequency vibration, thus effectively cleaning your facial pores.
  • Lifting: EMS pulse micro-current will be generated to reach the skin bottom through the spade head to stimulate the regeneration of collagens and to tighten the skin.
  • Ion+: Skin can be completely cleaned according to the principle of attraction of opposite ions to have the grease and aged cutin withdrawn from the pores.
  • Ion-: Negative ions help the skin absorb nutrients of the cream and essence.

We love how easy it is to use. It’s a common theme with me, I really hate complicated to use or messy to use products and equipment. So you always know my recommendations will be the no-nonsense kind. This is a wonderful once a week deep clean and while it doesn’t have the strength, capacity, or effectiveness as a professional scrubber used in a spa we certainly noticed great results and its the next best thing.

LED Light Therapy

at home facials

10 years ago the thought of being able to use light therapy at home was just a dream! Salon/spa treatments with LED were very expensive and there was no at home alternative. Fast forward a few years and there are so many products available at fantastic prices it’s difficult to narrow the selection down. LED light therapy is a non-invasive treatment and requires no down time. LED Light therapy is available in different colors for different frequencies and these target different problems.

Blue LED has a wavelength of between 405nm to 420nm and has anti-bacterial benefits. This allows it to kill off acne-causing bacteria and is most useful during the eruptive phase to address the problem at its source.

Red LED has a wavelength of between 620nm (light red) to 700nm (dark red) with anti aging properties as well as its ability to heal old scars. It is able to stimulate collagen and elastin production which are the building blocks of the skin. Red LED reduces inflammation caused by blemishes, and sun damage by accelerating the healing process thus improving skin tone and reducing wrinkles.

Yellow LED Light Therapy has a wavelength of 590–560nm which triggers the lymphatic system to remove toxins from the exposed area. In addition, it increases blood circulation which improves wound healing and increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture. Yellow LED Light Therapy keeps the skin hydrated and amplifies your skincare regimen.

To get the best results for your skin it is best to use a combination of blue and red LED’s.

Hydraskincare

Hydraskincare PDT LED Therapy Machine

We love the versatility of this product. I can be used on both face and body. It’s suitable for use in small spas and salons. It also contains Infrared bulbs which are fantastic at reducing pain and swelling. Very multi functional. This photon therapy machine is highly recommended by estheticians.

It is lightweight, flexible and comes complete with professional goggles. Be careful not to fall asleep while using it though! It is a very relaxing experience.

High Frequency Argon and Neon Therapy

There are two different types of high frequency machine. Argon and Neon. Argon for fighting acne and Neon for anti-aging.

Argon electrodes (violet) are generally used by an aesthetician in order to treat acne prone skin. It works by emitting an extremely small amount of ultraviolet light when the violet electrode comes into contact with the skin. Such brief and low level UV exposure is considered safe and non-damaging while providing thorough anti-bacterial and healing benefits. These benefits come forth due to the fact that Argon is denser than air and displaces oxygen, this is part of the reason why after using high frequency the sparked bacteria is eliminated and emits an Ozone smell. Yes we know it smells funky but it works!

Neon electrodes (orange) are generally sought after for the treatment of aging skin because they direct more warmth to the treatment area therefore promote blood circulation, encouraging cellular turnover rate and improved product penetration. Liquefied neon is commercially used as a cryogenic refrigerant (‘natural preservative’). Therefore, the application of such gas into the pores has shown an ability to ‘preserve youth’ or reduce signs of aging by stimulating fibroblasts and collagen production.
